7th November 2011

Well folks! I've decided to hole up in Australia for it's summer with first stop the paradise like Coogee Bay nr. Sydney. The news is that'll be hitting the sultry streets/bars of this land very soon and hope to infect the joyous Aussies with some of my down home blooze. I feel an outback recording or two will be in the offering as I've got some portable gear ready to capture those tumbleweed tunes that're ready to BBQ! For those of you backhome in the UK...keep warm and see you's next spring. In the meantime I will post the odd blog on my Facebook page. I will be availble for bookings in the UK as of April 2012. www.facebook.com/slimlightfoot.

PRIMITIVE BLUES

The muse is a funny beast it can lead you astray but it can also focus that bread bin of your mind. Slim is about to embark on his next recording project taking in aspects of his Electro-Gospel-Blues ideas. The foundations have been laid for an album that has led Slim to forge a primitive sound using technology but sounding like a Preacher spouting from the country pulpit. "Roll Of Thunder" & "Beef & Horses" are becoming staple tracks to his set. Whilst "Gods Kitchen" is an existential addition from his troubled soul, distorting an old Blancmange track!! Let That Jelly Roll!

ELECTRO-GOSPEL-BLUES-TWANG!

Slim will be airing some new material in the next few weeks launching the sound of his Electro-Gospel-Blues-Twang! Armed with a beats stitcher a mustard tin, wooden table leg and a distressed git-ar he'll demonstrate the power of his fusion licks (well blooze licks) to the world. Spread the word brothers and sisters because his 21st century blues is coming to fruition!

"Slim Lightfoot shows himself to both an innovator and an explorer, constantly looking to see where he can take his beloved music next. Wherever it may be it's sure to be one hell of a ride.

"Slim masters both the bluesjargon and the feeling of the old delta blues"-Rootstime- Feb 2011

" Lightfoot has an authentic Blues voice"- Blues Matters (February 2011)

Slim Lightfoot plays blues infused music be it a down home old style delta feel to a rip roaring electro like garage blues using loops and found grooves and he also uses his much maligned stomp-board to drive the rhythm along. He has supported acts such as The Black Keys, Agnostic Mountain Choir, C.W Stoneking, & Jem Finer (The Pogues) and can be caught either in a solo capacity or with The Southdowners who thicken up an already lively brew. Slim works the streets, the bars, the clubs, festivals, private functions, even the odd tune finds its way on to the radio or TV (BBC1, CH 4 & Radio 2) as well as countless plays on stations in the States. Himself and the band are available directly for bookings, so if your feeling brave and have the dough, get in touch because this is his living and he wants to keep on keeping on bugging you with his blues infused music.
